About

The Chartists 1770 Restaurant at The Trewythen is a two rosette restaurant that offers an elegant  – casual fine dining experience. The focus is on creating beautifully crafted dishes, seeking out the best available produce, with a passion to delight, share our curiosity and our love of delicious artisan food.

Chartists 1770 at The Trewythen in Llanidloes, which has two AA rosettes and a four star Visit Wales grading, will now be open seven days a week. The restaurant is renowned for its fine cuisine using the best and freshest Welsh produce.

Lunch is served 7 days a week 12pm - 3pm with a choice of popular Chartists Classics on the menu. Traditional afternoon teas, featuring home-baked cakes and pastries, are also served between 2.30pm and 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday. Our evening menu is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday 6pm - 8.30pm. 

On Sunday lunchtime, diners can choose from Chartists 1770’s three course Sunday Lunch menu featuring a traditional roast that will change each week. To avoid disappointment, diners can book in advance at https://www.trewythenhotel.wales/book-a-table/

The accommodation has been awarded 4 stars by Visit Wales and the Restaurant Chartists 1770 has received 2 AA rosettes.

Llanidloes is the first town on the River Severn & the gateway to the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales, Llanidloes offers over 30 walking routes that link the town with smaller surrounding villages of Llangurig, Llandinam, and Trefeglwys, perfect for people wanting to experience the beautiful landscape of Wales.
