Ty'n Rhyd

About

A detached, spacious and characterful cottage, situated on a country lane with no immediate neighbours, so peace and privacy guaranteed. Large enclosed garden and spectacular views over the surrounding farmland to the sea, and to the distant hamlet of Rhiw, with its ancient volcanic crags.

Just a short walk to the spectacular 'secret cove' at Porth Ysgo (voted 2nd Best Beach in Wales by The Times, 2021). Easy access onto the Wales Coastal Path, and close by are the intriguing remains of the manganese mining industry of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Located at the westerly tip of the Llyn Peninsula, Ty'n Rhyd (which means 'house on the ford') is just two miles from the historic and picturesque seaside village of Aberdaron, which in addition to a mile-long sandy beach offers amenities including cafes and coffee shops, two family-friendly pubs serving quality food, a renowned fish & chip shop, a well-stocked Spar general store, and a popular craft bakery. Boat trips to nearby Bardsey Island leave daily in season from nearby Porth Meudwy.

This beautiful property offers an ideal base for both beach and walking holidays. Explore the many stunning beaches and rugged coastline of the Llyn Peninsula, and travel beyond to Snowdonia, or visit the famous castles of the North Wales coastline. After a busy day exploring, you will love coming back each evening to relax and enjoy this very special holiday home.

The cottage (formerly two separate dwellings) has been renovated to a high standard, and is superbly equipped including a fully fitted kitchen, two sitting rooms (one with multi-fuel stove), and three comfortable bedrooms (1King, 1 Double, 2 Twin beds) with generous storage.

The comfortable, spacious yet cosy accommodation consists of an open plan fully-fitted and very well-equipped kitchen, along with the main sitting room. This has a stunning feature inglenook fireplace with multi-fuel stove, and Smart TV+DVD.

The kitchen offers everything that you could want in a 'home away from home', including electric fan oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer and combi-microwave, with plentiful crockery, cutlery and glassware, and Nespresso coffee pod machine.

A second cosy sitting room with TV ensures plenty of opportunity for all of the family to find a quiet place or own space. In addition a splendid, south-facing sun room/dining area will entice you to spend many hours just drinking in the panoramic views whilst dining, or just totally relaxing in the peace and quiet.

A large enclosed garden, with small brook at the bottom, gives plentiful space for recreation and relaxation, and outdoor dining. Stunning views in all directions over nearby farmland, to the sea in the distance. This is truly an idyllic cottage in a stunning position, offering peace and seclusion, and a visual treat in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Available for booking all year round, with short breaks on request, normally out of summer season.
