Wales Way Road Trips

The Wales Way

The Wales Way is a new family of three national routes that lead you into the heart of real Wales.

  • The Coastal Way travels the west coast around Cardigan Bay, a 180-mile (290km) 
  • The Cambrian Way crosses the spine of Wales for 185 miles (300km)
  • The North Wales Way leads 75 miles (120km) past mighty North Wales' castles.



Fast railway connections between London and Cardiff mean it is possible to travel in under two hours!

Travelling from Manchester? Its possible to be on the beach in Llandudno in just over two hours by train!

If you fancy the slower pace of life, then why not take one of the many scenic railways through Wales to your destination. Nothing rivals the stunning scenery that you will see from the window - sit back and enjoy!

Scenic Railway Lines in Wales 



Wales is connected by a number of major routes including the M4 motorway which provides links to South Wales, Cardiff and Swansea from southern England and London.

The A55 expressway is North Wales equivilent of the M4, and provides access to Anglesey, Snowdonia and the North Wales coastline from Manchester, Liverpool and beyond.

Bus & Coach


Don't feel like you have to rely on your car! You'd be suprised of how many long distance coach routes there are in Wales.

Travelling from Ireland? 

You have a choice of two ferry providers travelling to 3 ports in Wales: Holyhead, Fishguard and Pembroke Dock.

To book your Irish Sea Crossing, try Stena Line or Irish Ferries.


Cardiff Airport is Wales' main international airport.

Other airports include; London Heathrow, Birmingham International which is 1.5 hrs from Mid Wales and Manchester International and Liverpool are only 45 minutes from North Wales.
